Hólmsheiði

Holmsheidi Prison.  56 cell custodial-, short sentence-, and women’s prison in Reykjavik, Iceland. The prison wards are 3; custodial, womens and short term sentances.  Other facilities include reception, guard stations, visitor ward, work- and recreational facilities and managment and employee facilities.
First prize in competition.  

Nominated for the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award in 2017.  

Nominated for DV Culture Award 2016.  

Selected as one of  Nordic Built's 30 exemplary projects in 2015.
