Vatnajokull National Park has inaugurated new gateway markers to the National Park. The structures are designed by Birgir Teitsson architect and Snaedis Laufey Bjarnadottir. The concept of the gateway markers is that they form gates to the National Park, form a family of two to five gateways at the main entry points and thereby pick up the role of leading and guiding travelers. Furthermore, they communicate the importance of living in harmony with nature.
